Johnson’s RBI double lifts Yanks

In recent Auburn Little League Majors Division baseball action, Paul Johnson hit a double in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift the Edgewood Veterinary Clinic Yankees over the Tanko Well Drilling Braves 3-2.
At the level for ages 10-12, the Yankees Travis Wright pitched six innings with six strikeouts, and Jordan Arndt finished in the seventh. For the Braves, John Kok pitched and had 11 strikeouts.
For the Yankees, Wade Andrews had a single and scored a run, and Arndt had two singles and scored. Ryan Miller had two singles and Patrick Williams had a double.
Kok had two base hits and run scored for the Braves, while Kyle Mathson who had a triple and scored, and Russel McClendon had a single.
Yankees 6, Auburn Journal Indians 1: The Yankees had eight hits, including Arndt’s two singles and double, Miller’s triple, Andrews’ double and single, and Jeff Patton’s single.
For the Indians, Justin Bryant hit a single and Jake Elia had one RBI.
Elks Lodge No. 1691 Pirates 5, Placer Sierra Bank Angels 19: For the Pirates, Randy Garrison and Austin Maynard each had a double and single, Chad Redfern three base hits, and Andrew Tuller one base hit.
For the Angels, Jesse Danielewicz had a single and a double and scored each time he was at bat. Matt Ross had two base hits and a double, Jake Lopez a single and double, Cody Van Riper two base hits, Blake Schaeffer and Lane Turner one single each, Jon Slane a base hit and triple, and Max Harris a two-run homer.
The Pirates also defeated the Indians 12-3 and the Braves 3-2.
Angels 22, Nations Rent Giants 5: The Giants’ 16-hit attack saw Danielewicz get three base hits, Ross a double, and Lopez a home run in the third inning after being hit in the first, and two base hits.
Van Riper had two doubles, Turner two base hits, Christian Godsey one base hit, and Harris had two base hits, one double, and a fourth-inning homer.
The Giants’ Kevin Morgan got on base in the third inning, and Mitchell Gavrilko followed with a base hit. Morgan scored on RBI by Mark Rhodes, and Gavrilko scored on RBI by Michael Gray. Gray walked in the sixth inning, and Ben Schallberger followed with a base hit and a steal of second base. Gray and Schallberger scored on an error.
Angels 11, Auburn’s 20/30 Club Cubs 3: For the Angels, Danielewicz had two doubles, Lopez had two base hits, and Harris, Ross, Schaeffer, Godsey, and Lipsmeyer all had base hits.
The Cubs’ Dustin Burns had a single and double, Adam Fry scored in the first then got a base hit later, and Jesse Gatt had two singles. Nick Linthicum, Derek Bovee, and Kyle Hennon had base hits. Bovee and Hennon scored.
Cubs 7, Anchor Roofing White Sox 3: For the Cubs, Evan Kotey, Jake Carlisle, Burns, Linthicum, Hennon, and Fry each had two singles.
The White Sox had a single and double from Spencer Zaputil, a single from Tim Bendana, and doubles from Jordan Neumann and Mikey Robbins.
Giants 3, White Sox 6: The Giants’ Mark Rhodes had two doubles, and pitcher Buck Brogden fired nine strikeouts.
The White Sox had two doubles from Zaputil, and two singles from Michael Bell and Bendanna. |
