Klem hurls, hits Auburn to 9-10 title Little League All-Star Baseball, by Journal Sports Staff FORESTHILL — Auburn's 9-10-Year-Old All-Stars triumphed 8-3 Tuesday night to cap a best-of-3 sweep of Bear River and capture the Little League District 11 championship. Josh Klem pitched all six innings for the win, and also belted a two-out homer to give his team a 5-2 lead. Bear River used a home run of its own to grab a 2-0 lead in the first inning. But Auburn's Tim Bendana tied it up in the second with a two-run homer and his team pulled away. Auburn will open its second section tournament in as many seasons at 7:30 Saturday night in Roseville against District 5 champion Citrus Heights. Rocklin Majors 11, Sierra Foothills 4: Colfax/Meadow Vista-based Sierra Foothills bowed out in Wednesday's third game of the best-of-3 series for 11- and 12-year-olds. Rocklin Juniors 8, Auburn 0: Auburn's age-13-14 team fell in Wednesday's title game.
